Welcome to Specialist PTSD and Injury Lawyers, (“SPIL”), first blog entry.
It has been a somewhat difficult journey back into legal practice but I’m so excited to be back. The main reason for my excitement is that I’m so looking forward to re-entering the legal arena. During the past few months I have had the opportunity of reassessing my career and working out what I wanted to do going forward. No matter what options were open to me, I simply couldn’t walk away from work I started with Cox West Lawyers; acting for psychiatrically injured clients and especially first responders. In the past two years, this work overtook my general personal injury practice. Acting for so many people with psychiatric injuries and especially police has been such a great experience. I’ve met so many wonderful people who desperately needed help and it has been so rewarding trudging the road of justice with them. At the end of the day I just felt I couldn’t turn away from this work and accordingly SPIL is the result.
The work we do is hard and frankly there are a lot of other areas of law I could practice in that would be easier. However, the rewards associated with helping people in real need and the inspiration I get from that is a real life affirming experience for me.
I invite you to discover more about us from our website, connect with us on social media and follow this blog which we intend to update regularly. At SPIL I have been reunited with Nadia Rahman who has now completed her law degree will become a lawyer later this year. I have worked with Nadia for four years and we are very much on the same page on what we want this practice to be. She certainly shares my passion for this work, this suitably intelligent and hard-working young woman.
I would like to acknowledge and thank everybody who has been so supportive in respect of this new venture. Special thanks go to my wife Catherine, my children and Nadia and her family.
We are already working on files and fighting hard for clients which is what we love doing.
We are very friendly and approachable. Please contact us if we can be of assistance.
Welcome!
